Ask your MP for a permanent and substantial cut in business rates to save local shops, protect jobs and support our community

Many local shops have been struggling because of high business rates

After the pandemic local shops will once again face having to pay business rates – an extra tax that commercial premises have to pay

This tax is one of the largest costs paid by shopkeepers. It has risen by 50 per cent since its introduction and has led to the closure of many of our favourite shops, job losses and the loss of community ties

It is essential that the government introduces long term reforms to business rates so that shops can stay in business in the months and years to come.
